I found this day quite exciting due to the fact that this
was my first day exploring different and unconventional drawing techniques.
-The first exercise that I done was called “Taking line for
a walk”. I particularly enjoyed this due the fact that I have never really done
drawings with a continuous line and felt it quit challenging as I restrained
myself from trying to do perfect little drawings which I tend to do when I have
the time.
The main purpose of this task was to loosen up and make sure
I had documented many sculptures in the V&A.
-Next was the back to back drawing. This is when I put my back to a selected sculptured and relied on my peer to describe that sculpture in order for me to sketch it quickly.
I did not particularly find this one too difficult as I was
quite good with the anatomy of the human form and my proportions were done
well.
-Thirdly I had to do a very tonal drawing only using the different
shades of contey sticks, this I felt quite confident with as I do quite
realistic portraits in more own free time and usually consist of heavy toning.
The only thing that held me back is my time management when
it came to doing the tonal drawing.
-Printed drawing room was my highlight of the trip to the
V&A. I had selected a print conveying the role of women in the 1800
I enjoyed this as I had time to spend on my response to the
drawing.
