SITE SPECIFIC WORK

1970 site specific art started/Contemporary art started

- Upper class art work because it cost money to vue

- Traditionally is not accessible to younger people, poor people, more used by a white population in England.

- To make work for everyone. Nothing holding the spectator back to vue to the art. Landmark

- Considerate to the viewer and how its gonna be viewed.

- Site specific work. Environment may damage it. Could be temporary. More meaning to it than value.

- Giving suggestions instead of one statements. Telling the viewer what to think or leaving it open

- They way u document it effects what they see

Analysis of a site
-as an artist what do u need to consider when your choosing a site

- as a viewer what will the experience be

-who will the viewers be?

-what time period will they spend viewing the work

- How the environment effects the work

-residential area, work area, any significance. The population in the place, are they familiar with seeing art

- history of the place, personal history but given insight to public, important to research any historical factors

-natural environment or man made

- temporary or permanent

- Consider other senses

- encourage audience interaction

-traditionally there are barriers in front of work
