Painting with a meaning

A humbled black youth, subverts the the typical black youths of today, red hoodie connotes passion and not violence. Black power comb connotes unity which is contrasted through the high angle shot showing suppression

i did find this quite challenging as it is only my first proper painting that i had done however still gavte it a go.

i decided to change the back ground as i thought the curtains behind were not fitting with the meaning of the painting and made no point and was quite out of place.

here i decided to do a larger and more expressive painting in a style similar to lucian freud. i done this to create a vsiula juxtoposition from the visual elements between the two paintings
